HAUTES COTES DE BEAUNE ROUGE

  • Maison Hauller is a French company founded in 1775, during the «golden age» of viticulture. As both coopers and wine grape growers, 5 generations of the family successfully transmitted their know-how in both professions. Today, as enoglogists, viticulturists and wineshop owners they carry on the tradition. Over the years, the company has continued to invest in order to supply wines to it’s clients that combine tradition and modernity.

  • Bourgogne France, Appellation Hautes Côtes de Beaune

  • The Hautes Côtes de Beaune appellation is a regional appellation in Burgundy composed of 670 Hectares located in the Côte-d'Or on the upper slopes of Beaune. The terroir is dominated, especially in the south, by marl formations. The slopes, at times very steep, are frequently covered with limestone scree originating from the Bajocian cornices. The plots overlook the Côte de Beaune from the west, from Maranges to Ladoix-Serrigny. Within this area are valleys and hills. The vines at the foot of the limestone cliffs grow on sunny slopes. The villages clinging to the hillsides welcome you in their tiny streets with white stone walls.

At each twist and turn in these tiny roads, one discovers behind each knoll a new landscape that instills a feeling of happiness with its luminous charm. The area is ideal for hiking, accompanied by wine tastings offered by “vignerons” in traditional cellars. The numerous accommodations will allow you to discover the life and homes of the inhabitants in this charming region.

Food Pairings & Tasting Notes

Serving Temperature & Tasting Notes

Ideally Served at 65°F, The purple color of this Pinot Noir with nuances of violet recalls the peony flower or the depth of certain roses. The fruity nose evokes morello cherry and raspberry, it evolves towards blackcurrant, licorice ending with flavors of forest floor herbs and a spicy finish. The tannins are distinguished with good length. In general, the Hautes Côtes de Beaune wines are charming thanks to their spontaneity and frankness. Sometimes closed in their youth, after a few years they find harmony and balance.

Food Pairings

This wines pairs well with roasted meats such as a sweet, curried veal filet or, more traditionally, a savory one. With its charming and spontaneous harmony, this wine goes well with simple dishes such as pork tenderloin, veal or a leg of lamb, accompanied by steamed vegetables or gratins.
